Volunteers Opportunities

The bond that forms between our riders and volunteers who lead the horse and walk beside the rider is something you can experience even if you have never worked with horses before. Whether it is working with our students and horses, working around the barn or helping in the office, there is something here for everyone! Come join our team! “There’s nothing stronger than the heart of a volunteer.”

HorseAbility welcomes volunteers ages 14 and up. Volunteers serve a wide range of functions for the organization.

Volunteers are the backbone of our programs. Horse knowledge and experience is not a necessity. We will teach you all you need to know through an orientation and training program for all new volunteers that is both educational and comprehensive. Proper horse-handling techniques and safety precautions are emphasized. Staff and senior volunteers will work with you to give you the tools and skills you need to be a successful volunteer. Volunteers are needed to assist with horse care, barn chores, lessons, treatment sessions, camp, outreach, fundraising, office work, and facility maintenance.

We appreciate the hard work and dedication from all of our volunteers. For the volunteers looking to expand their knowledge, education and connection with horses, HorseAbility offers lessons at a special rate after a commitment of 5 hours a week for 3 consecutive months.
